Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI), a provider of postsecondary education services, has promoted Edward C. Stepanow to Vice President and Corporate Treasurer.

Reporting to Dan Devine, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Bridgepoint Education, Stepanow is responsible for managing the Treasury Department for the NYSE-traded company, analyzing and implementing the company's ongoing cash and liquidity management policies, capital markets policies and corporate risk management policies. 

"Since joining Bridgepoint Education in 2009, Stepanow has significantly added to our business by overseeing the implementation and daily management of the treasury function," stated Devine. "We are pleased he will be applying his wealth of knowledge and financial skills to his new role and managing this critical function."

Stepanow has more than 20 years of experience in management positions for market-leading institutions, which include serving as associate vice president for The CIT Group, vice president and regional manager for ITT Group, and senior vice president and national manager for Coast Federal Bank. Prior to joining Bridgepoint Education, Stepanow managed corporate fundraising programs for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California.

Stepanow holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from San Diego State University. He is also a graduate of the CIT Group's School of Credit Administration and the ITT Group's School of Management, as well as a Certified Professional for Enterprise Risk Management (ERMCP) and a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).

Stepanow is active in several local non-profit organizations, including Junior Achievement, Horizon Prep, Operation Christmas Child and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
