SAN DIEGO, CA (September 1st, 2007) – Bridgepoint Education has appointed TR Irwin Vice President of Finance. Mr. Irwin will report directly to Chief Financial Officer, Dan Devine.

Prior to joining Bridgepoint, Mr. Irwin served as a Divisional Vice President of Finance for Career Education Corporation (CEC). While at CEC, Mr. Irwin held the positions of Chief Business Officer for American InterContinental University (AIU), Vice President of Finance for the University and College West Divisions, and served as an ex officio, non-voting participant of the AIU Governing Board of Trustees and its Finance sub-committee.
Prior to his experience in higher education, Mr. Irwin worked within Fortune 500 and International 1000 companies. He served as Chief Financial Officer for a high-technology start-up enterprise within Accenture LLP (formerly Andersen Consulting LLP) and was the Senior Finance Director for Accenture’s largest Business Unit.
Mr. Irwin also worked at Huhtamäki Oy, a European-based, culminating in his role as Vice President of Finance for European operations. He held accounting and audit roles at the Helene Curtis division of Unilever and the “Big Four” public accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick.
Mr. Irwin received his Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Business Administration and Accounting, and a minor in Computer Science, from Augustana College in Illinois. He earned the postgraduate degree of Master of Management in Finance, Marketing and International Business from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Mr. Irwin is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
