Two hallmark educational technologies from Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) have been anointed as finalists for this year’s Software & Information Industry Association CODiE Awards. Ashford Mobile and Rockies Mobile, Bridgepoint’s mobile online classroom apps, were nominated alongside Waypoint2, a rubric-based student assessment and feedback platform for educators developed by Waypoint Outcomes, a Bridgepoint subsidiary.
“We’re pleased that the mobile classroom app powering Ashford and Rockies Mobile has been acknowledged as a CODiE finalist this year,” stated Dana LaFleur, director of Learning Architecture at Bridgepoint Education. “Providing students and faculty a comprehensive online learning experience has been a great windfall for modern education.”
Ashford and Rockies Mobile are in a class of eight CODiE finalists for the Best Educational Use of a Mobile Device, while Waypoint2, the education assessment tool created by Waypoint Outcomes, has been selected as one of seven potential winners of the CODiE for Best Student Assessment Solution. These nominations deliver Bridgepoint a CODiE trifecta, as the company’s Constellation digital content platform was a finalist in 2011.
“The team behind Waypoint2 is very proud of our nomination as a CODiE finalist. It’s inspiring to see the value of rich student feedback and authentic assessment of skills being more broadly recognized,” declared Michael Jones, director of Product Experience for Waypoint Outcomes.
The educational technology CODiEs will be awarded at a special awards dinner, held at the Ed Tech Industry Summit in San Francisco on May 7.
