Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) was named by Denver Business Journal as the fourth healthiest large company in Denver in the third annual Metro Denver Healthiest Employer awards. A total of 15 companies in three categories – small, medium, and large companies – were named as honorees and recognized for maintaining a strong focus on workers’ wellness.
Bridgepoint Education demonstrates its commitment to the health of its employees by offering a multi-faceted wellness program that includes partnering with Cigna to focus on preventative care, disease management, and an outreach program; maintaining a wellness committee that meets monthly to discuss challenges to motivate employees to become active; offering free onsite fitness classes; and making additional information on specific health topics available to employees each quarter.
For the Metro Denver Healthiest Employer awards, companies were assessed in key health-related areas. Companies were surveyed to determine if they offer a tobacco-free workplace, dependent access to wellness initiatives, health risk appraisals, biometric screening, obesity coaching and management, and incentives to modify “at risk” behavior. The surveys were then ranked by an outside organization.
