Victor K. Nichols Elected to Bridgepoint Education's Board of Directors

Nichols has held executive leadership positions at global companies and serves on the boards and advisory committees for public and charitable organizations

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 3, 2014, the board of directors of Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) elected Victor K. Nichols to the board, effective immediately. Nichols' term will expire at Bridgepoint's annual meeting of stockholders in 2016. He will also serve as a member of the board's audit committee.

Nichols brings an extensive background of executive leadership to the Bridgepoint board. Since 2007, he has worked at Experian in a variety of roles, including chief executive officer, North America and managing director, global consumer services. He has also served Experian as the chief executive officer, United Kingdom and Europe, Middle East, and Africa, and group president. Previously, Nichols spent seven years at Wells Fargo & Company as the chief information officer and member of the management committee. He also served as president and chief executive officer for Vicor Corporation, an advanced technology engineering company.

In addition, Nichols has brought his leadership and guidance to the boards and advisory committees of several public and charitable organizations. He currently sits on boards for Bank of Hawaii Corporation, Crystal Cove Alliance, and the Economic Leadership Council of the University of California, San Diego.

Nichols holds a B.A. in economics from the University of California, San Diego and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
