More than 300 volunteers from Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) and its academic institution, Ashford University, are expected to attend the Saturday, Oct. 22, volunteer event at Feeding San Diego as part of the organization’s “Heroes Day,” a biannual employee volunteer event.

Working in collaboration with Feeding San Diego, Bridgepoint Education and Ashford University volunteers will support Feeding San Diego’s campaign “Hunger Free & Healthy” by cleaning, sorting, and packing food that will be distributed to families in San Diego. “Hunger Free & Healthy” is an effort to help contribute relief to the 151,440 children in San Diego County who are food insecure.

Councilmember Chris Cate, who represents the City of San Diego’s Sixth District, where Feeding San Diego is located, has also been invited to participate in Bridgepoint’s Heroes Day. Councilmember Cate, and members of his staff, will volunteer alongside Bridgepoint and Ashford employee volunteers.
