As part of its continuing efforts to provide quality educational experiences and support children in its hometown, Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) donated laptops, printers, and technology equipment to San Diego-based non-profit organization Computers 2 SD Kids. Representatives from Bridgepoint’s business technology services team presented the company’s donation on Friday, January 27. Bridgepoint’s donation will help provide children and their families with the tools they need to improve their educational options.
“At Bridgepoint Education, we take pride in helping students achieve academic success,” said Jennifer Love Bruce, associate vice president of community relations at Bridgepoint Education. “We are excited to continue supporting Computers 2 SD Kids with more than 90 new laptops, several printers, and additional equipment. We believe in their mission of providing underserved children in San Diego with equal access to technology and educational resources.”
Computers 2 SD Kids assists qualified children and their families in obtaining computers, software, training, and support in order to help them become computer literate and increase access to educational, occupational, and financial resources. The prime goal of Computers 2 SD Kids is to place the needed computers into the homes of the 28% of San Diego County families who cannot afford computer technology. With the help of the organization’s Technology Grant Program, applicants are reviewed for socio-economic status and family dynamics. Accepted candidates are contacted to receive training and a computer.
