NEW YORK (July 22, 2021)—To support Ohio’s growing tech market, Fullstack Academy and Cleveland State University (CSU) today opened registration for three skills training bootcamps in coding, cybersecurity and data analytics.
Developed for early-career and experienced professionals with little-to-no tech experience, the 26-week, part-time Cleveland State Tech Bootcamps will teach students highly marketable skills that will qualify them for well-paying jobs across Ohio, a state that is experiencing rapid growth in the tech sector.
According to LinkedIn’s 2020 Tech Migration Trends report, Cleveland ranked as the second-largest gainer of tech professionals in 2020. In addition, more than 1,000 entry-level industry jobs remain available across Ohio. The region is poised for future growth as well, with Burning Glass projecting a workforce increase of nearly 25% in cybersecurity and 6-8% in coding and data analytics over the next decade.
The market’s increasing demand for tech professionals is accompanied by competitive salaries as well. Glassdoor reports that an Ohio entry-level cybersecurity analyst earns nearly $90,000, with a junior software developer and data analyst receiving close to $75,000 and $60,000, respectively.
“The Cleveland State Bootcamps are an ideal opportunity for those who are seeking to change their career paths or are interested in furthering their education, especially now as Ohio’s need for tech talent continues to increase,” said Mogan Subramaniam, President of Fullstack Academy. “Taught by tech professionals who understand the needs and challenges of the industry, the program’s accelerated and highly interactive curriculum enables individuals to transition into tech with confidence and every opportunity to succeed.”
Students interested in pursuing a career in tech can select from three available programs:
- Cleveland State Coding Bootcamp will teach fullstack JavaScript, giving students a foundation in both front- and back-end web development and the necessary programming skills for in-demand coding jobs.
- Cleveland State Cyber Bootcamp will instruct students on how to monitor and secure systems, networks, and applications, as well as deploy offensive and defensive tactics needed to appropriately respond to cyber breaches.
- Cleveland State Data Analytics Bootcamp will train students on SQL, Python, and data visualization skills to earn the most in-demand certifications that companies seek when hiring talent for these positions.
“These bootcamps will strengthen Ohio’s growing tech community by developing a pool of talented and qualified professionals that help sustain the industry’s projected growth,” said Nancy Pratt, Executive Director of the Division of Continuing and Extended Education at Cleveland State University. “Each bootcamp will not only teach the specialized skills employers are seeking, but also provide dedicated career support pre- and post-graduation to help ensure immediate and continued success.”
The Cleveland State Tech Bootcamps commence October 2021. Individuals must apply by Sept. 27 for coding, Sept. 28 for cybersecurity and Oct. 11 for data analytics. In addition to optional financing programs, Fullstack Academy will expand access to the bootcamps by offering scholarships to Cleveland State alumni, students, employees, and active military or veterans.
