Bridgepoint Education Employees Raise More Than $6,000 in Holiday Toys and Gift Cards for San Diego's Promises2Kids Organization

Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI), a provider of post-secondary education services focused on providing higher access to higher education, is pleased to announce that its employees raised more than $6,000 in toys and gift cards for Promises2Kids. The non-profit organization is dedicated to fighting child abuse and neglect, and serves the needs of thousands of foster children in San Diego County.

The fundraising effort was part of Bridgepoint’s “Gift of Hope Gift Card Campaign” and employees from Bridgepoint, Ashford University, and University of the Rockies participated. More than 50 employees volunteered to distribute the toys and cards, and the fundraising enabled more than 300 children in the Promises2Kids program to receive holiday presents.

“Bridgepoint Education was founded on the premise of making a difference in people’s lives through education. Children are the future, and it’s important to us as an organization, and as individuals, to support groups that effect positive change,” said Andrew Clark, Bridgepoint Education’s chief executive officer. “I am incredibly proud of the Bridgepoint Education family, and of all those who dedicated their time and resources toward making the holidays special for these children,” he added.

“We at Promises2Kids are grateful that Bridgepoint Education’s employees are as devoted to helping children as they are to meeting the educational needs of hard-working Americans,” said Edith Glassey, director of development and communications for Promises2Kids. “The holidays are especially tough for children who are in the foster care system and have suffered from abuse and neglect. Bridgepoint Education’s gift of time and money to go towards toys and gift cards reinforces to these children that they matter and are cared about.”
