Bridgepoint Education's New Denver Office Joins Junior Achievement to Teach Local Children
Bridgepoint Education to sponsor Junior Achievement's "Igniting the American Spirit" Program

On May 18 and 19, employees at Bridgepoint Education’s (NYSE: BPI) new Ashford University Denver Online Center volunteered to be Teachers for a Day with Junior Achievement – Rocky Mountain. More than 60 employees commuted to local classrooms at two different schools in the Denver area to teach classes at the pre-kindergarten through eighth grade levels.

Bridgepoint Education has partnered with Junior Achievement in the San Diego area for three years and the company was eager to expand the relationship to its new Denver office. As part of the partnership, Bridgepoint has agreed to sponsor Junior Achievement’s Denver-based “Igniting the American Spirit” program through the Denver Online Center. The program will inject $10,000 a year into Junior Achievement’s “Ignite” efforts (with the Colorado Council for Economic Education) to improve school children’s understanding of sound financial behavior.

“We are very excited to have established a long-term relationship with Junior Achievement here in the Denver metro area,” stated Mitch Thomas, vice president of Ashford University’s Denver Online Center. “It’s a fantastic beginning to Bridgepoint Education’s contribution to Denver.”
