Students' Online Academic Experience Becomes More Personal with Bridgepoint Education's Thuze Learning Platform
Jones and Bartlett Learning, McGraw-Hill Education, and Pearson to pilot program

Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI), today introduced Thuze, a digital learning platform. A provider of innovative solutions that advance learning, Bridgepoint Education created Thuze to give students a powerful cloud-based learning system that improves and expands the user experience across multiple devices.

Bridgepoint Education will unveil Thuze at the upcoming 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, where Andrew Clark, Bridgepoint Education's chief executive officer, will speak on the subject of disruptive innovation in higher education at CES’s HigherEdTECH Summit on January 11.

Bridgepoint Education is launching Thuze as a pilot program with leading publishers in higher education, including Jones and Bartlett Learning, McGraw-Hill Education, and Pearson. The pilot comprises a limited number of top-selling etextbooks presented on the Thuze platform. Students from a variety of colleges and universities across the country will be invited to test the platform and offer their feedback.

“We know that students want options and flexibility, and they want to be effective learners. With the technology that supports Thuze, students can personalize their study materials and track their progress as they complete their readings. They can even involve their peers in the learning process,” said Clark. “And because Thuze is a cloud-based system, students can access and synch their etextbooks and annotations on the web and across a number of devices like Android ™ and iPad ® tablets.”

Thuze gives students access to their etextbooks across platforms without sacrificing time-tested studying tools like highlighting and note taking. Thuze enables students to share notes and highlights with their peers, and to utilize the social networking aspect of the platform by having conversations with other students and posting their thoughts on discussion boards. Further, Thuze’s notebook feature lets students create their own study guides from their annotations, and to instantly search for key terms. Students’ notes, highlights and the notebook synch seamlessly in the cloud as students move effortlessly across devices.

To experience Thuze in person, visit booth number 3206 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center during the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas January 10-13.
