TutorMe Announces Nationwide Call for Educators to Apply for Grant Valued at More Than $100,000
The school or district selected for the online tutoring assistance will receive TutorMe’s online tutoring services for one academic year to address learning gaps created or worsened by COVID

LOS ANGELES (July 3, 2021)— TutorMe, the online tutoring solution of the future, today announced a nationwide call for submissions to earn free online tutoring assistance to help students in grades 9–12. To help close learning gaps created by COVID, TutorMe has developed the High-Dosage Online Tutoring Grant to provide a selected school or district with tutoring services for one academic year, valued at more than $100,000.

Research shows that high-dosage tutoring, characterized by one-to-one or small group sessions on a sustained basis and focused on scaffolding academic content, improves student outcomes. This type of intensive tutoring can help mitigate both the short-term and long-term effects of the pandemic that have slowed academic progress and exacerbated existing inequities.

TutorMe’s selection committee will evaluate and score the applicants based on their responses regarding student need, commitment to academic support, and technology resources. The recipient’s students will receive free access to more than 15,000 highly qualified, on-demand tutors in more than 300 subjects. The selected recipient will also receive implementation and onboarding support to get their staff and students onboarded and comfortable on the TutorMe platform.

“In a year when the quality of students’ education can depend on their financial resources, I am honored to offer on-demand support to students who need and deserve a level academic playing field,” said Myles Hunter, co-founder and CEO of TutorMe. “Demand for our services has grown enormously, and we’d like to pay it forward by giving back to a deserving community so parents and faculty facing economic difficulties can be empowered to support students’ learning.”

TutorMe’s call for submissions for free online tutoring is open through June 11, 2021. Organizations interested in applying can do so through this application. Finalists will be selected and contacted for further consideration. At the conclusion of the process, TutorMe’s selection committee will choose one school or district to be awarded free tutoring services for one academic year.
